Commercial cleaning for Auckland offices, shops and warehouses

The measure of a commercial cleaner isn’t how good the first month looks. It’s whether the bathrooms are stocked on a wet Monday in July when someone’s off sick. Tidy Kiwi runs recurring cleans for Auckland workplaces with a set crew, a written scope, and a phone number that gets answered.

What the scope usually looks like

We walk the site before quoting, because an open-plan office of thirty, a suburban retail floor and a warehouse with a mezzanine office need three different plans. What comes out of that walk-through is a written scope: which areas get cleaned every visit, which are on a weekly or monthly rotation, and who is responsible for what.

A typical office visit covers workstations and shared desks, meeting rooms reset, kitchen and breakroom benches, sinks and appliance fronts, bathrooms cleaned and sanitised with consumables restocked, glass doors and internal partitions spot-cleaned, rubbish and recycling collected, and all floors vacuumed and mopped. Retail adds fitting rooms, counters and the front-of-house glass. Warehouses add amenity blocks, lunch rooms and hard-floor machine work.

Periodic work sits alongside the recurring clean rather than inside it: carpet extraction, upholstery on reception and breakout furniture, hard-floor strip and seal, and high-level dusting. We schedule those in advance so they land in a quiet week rather than the day before your busiest.

Working around your team

Most offices we clean prefer after hours, once the floor is empty and the crew can move without working around meetings. Retail generally wants us before the doors open. Warehouses and workshops often suit an early start so the amenity block is done before the first shift. We work Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm, and set the pattern around whichever of those fits your operation.

Alarm codes, swipe access, keys and after-hours contacts are handled properly and held by the people who need them. Our cleaners are police-vetted before they set foot on a site, and Tidy Kiwi carries full insurance, which is usually the first thing a facilities manager or building owner asks about and the last thing a cut-price operator can produce.

Site rules come with the scope rather than after an incident: where the crew parks, which lift or loading bay they use, what the building requires after hours, which rooms are off limits and which cupboards hold what. On shared sites we work in with the building’s own arrangements so your clean isn’t the reason someone gets a call from the body corporate.

Why the same crew matters

Cleaning contracts don’t normally fail on effort. They fail on churn — a new face every fortnight, each one learning the site from scratch, each one missing the thing the last one had finally learned. We keep a consistent crew on each site so the standard climbs instead of resetting.

You get a named contact rather than a call centre, and if something is missed we come back and fix it under the same 100% satisfaction guarantee that covers our residential work. We’re locally owned and operated out of Sandringham, so the person you raise an issue with is in Auckland and can be on your site the same week.

Auckland premises, Auckland conditions

Auckland winters walk in through the front door. Wet weather means grit and water tracked across entrance matting and into carpet tiles, which is why entry zones and matting get more attention in the wet half of the year than the rest of the floor does. Left alone, that traffic lane in reception is the first thing every visitor notices.

The city’s humidity also shows up in commercial amenity blocks and kitchens, where poor ventilation and a closed weekend are enough to start mould on silicone and ceiling vents. Regular sanitising and drying of those areas is cheaper than the remediation that follows six months of ignoring them.

A typical commercial clean, task by task

  • Meeting rooms reset, tables cleaned, whiteboards wiped

  • Reception desk, seating and entry glass cleaned

  • Fridge, microwave and dishwasher exteriors cleaned

  • Bathrooms cleaned, sanitised and deodorised

  • Toilet paper, hand towels and soap restocked

  • Internal glass, partitions and door handles spot-cleaned

  • Rubbish and recycling collected and taken to the bin store

  • Carpet and carpet tiles vacuumed, traffic lanes included

  • Hard floors vacuumed and mopped or machine-scrubbed

  • Entrance matting lifted, cleaned underneath and replaced

Questions about commercial cleaning

Do you clean after hours or during the working day?
Either. Offices usually pick an evening slot once the floor clears, retail tends to want us before opening, and warehouses often prefer an early start before the first shift. We set the pattern with you when we scope the site.
Do you supply consumables like toilet paper and hand towels?
We restock them every visit and can either use the stock you hold on site or supply and manage it for you. Sites that run out are almost always sites where nobody owns the reordering, so we make that explicit in the scope.
Can you clean multiple sites for one business?
Yes. Multi-site clients get one scope, one contact and one set of standards, which is far easier to hold to account than a different cleaner in every suburb. We cover central Auckland, the North Shore, and west, east and south Auckland.
What happens if a cleaner is sick?
The visit still happens. Every site has documented access and scope notes, so a cover cleaner from the same team can run it without you having to brief anyone. Skipping a night is not something we ask you to absorb.
